A no-cost, expert-supported planning opportunity for small and mid-sized stationsLocal News Catalyst is offering a sponsored strategic planning cohort in early 2026 for a small group of local public media organizations working to strengthen their strategy, community impact, and long-term sustainability.
A limited number of stations will be selected to participate at no cost. Cohort members receive a one-year license to PlanPerfect, a strategic planning platform designed for lean teams, along with a series of guided virtual sessions that make the planning process manageable instead of overwhelming.

Who We’re Looking For
We encourage applications from:
- Small to mid-sized stations, especially those with a strong local news or community information focus
- Organizations without a current strategic plan or relying on a plan that is outdated
- Stations with leaders who acknowledge the need for planning and are committed to participating fully in cohort sessions
