Filter and Find Funders
Five years of media-related grantmaking from across the country — tens of thousands of grants, each with the funder, recipient, amount, and date of support. Browse the full dataset, filter by funder, and download anything you want for your own analysis.
Is this the right tool for what you need?
There are three ways to find funders, depending on how much AI you want in the loop:
- Want the quickest answer? Use the Funder Tool for a curated list of funders likely to fit your station.
- Want to run your own searches with AI? Connect your AI assistant directly to this same database.
- Prefer to skip the AI and explore the data yourself? You're in the right place.
What you can find here
Start with geography. Filter by city and state to see which funders have given media-related grants in your area, ranked by total contribution. Click any funder name to see who they've supported and how much each recipient received. Leave the filters off to see the picture nationally.
A few of the questions stations have used the data to answer:
- Which foundations have given the most to media in our region?
- Who are they funding, and what does that reveal about their priorities?
- At what amount has this funder supported public media before?
